Education | 3 TIPS FOR CHOOSING YOUR WEDDING PROFESSIONALS – PART 3

Education, Wedding

December 11, 2015

Hi there friends! How was your week? I hope it’s been wonderful and you have some fun things and/or serious rest planned for this weekend; I know I’m planning on a little bit of both! Today we’re wrapping up the mini-series on some of my most valuable planning tips and tricks to ensure a fun, stress free, wedding planning experience. This little series has been so fun to share and I can’t wait to see you back here next week as I share some of my takeaways from this week’s Rising Tide Society Summit – trust me, you won’t want to miss this recap! Now for our final tip:

Trust your gut

This one may seem simple but you would be amazed at how hard it is to make decisions when you’re twitterpated, tired and maybe the slightest bit stressed. Overall, you know you better than anyone else. Trust yourself when things feel right and pump the breaks when they don’t. Ask yourself those hard questions.  Are you comfortable with the direction in which you’re going? Are you satisfied with your contract? Is this person within your budget? Does their vision align with your values and goals? Are you confident in their experience and ability? How does this person make you feel?  These are just some of the many questions you could ask yourself but they cover a lot of important ground. The bottom line is this special time is about you.

Your priorities. Your desires. Your needs. Your feelings.

If something doesn’t sit right it’s probably not right. Be honest with yourself, your future spouse and with your professionals. This open communication will allow you to have the most productive working relationship!

I know that these tips may seem like quite the undertaking but I promise they will pay off and prevent a lot of anguish in the long run. The people that you entrust to interpret your vision mold your entire event (other than the most important part – you’ll be married) so it’s essential to pick your squad carefully.

Our team had a huge impact on our wedding, but also on the year leading up to it. We were so blessed to work with many experts in the industry that worked cohesively, took the time to make us feel important and preserved this pivotal time in our lives. For them, it wasn’t all about workflows, portfolios or paychecks but in making it all about US, those things naturally followed suit.  They are some of the most genuine, loving, people we have ever met and no lie, they’re all totally awesome!

(I mean really, how awesome is Maddie for dancing with that crazy girl below?!)

So take a deep breath; I’m sending you a big hug and wishing you the absolute best of luck throughout your planning process! Don’t forget only happy tears are allowed in this squad!

These professionals treated us like gold so I can’t help but brag a little 😉
