Hi there you two - what an exciting time! You're engaged and if you've found your way to this page, I’m sure your mind is already racing with all things wedding! As a former overwhelmed bride myself, I can assure you that you're not alone in the "wedding whirlwind" but you're on the right track because you've made it this far. Whether your wedding will have hundreds of guests at a historic estate or simply your closest friends and family in an outdoor garden, there are lots of details that go into making the perfect day and I am beyond excited to capture it all!

On my wedding day, I was a bundle of nerves. I'm an avid planner at heart and if you can imagine a bride that was still finishing wedding signs a few hours before the guests arrived, you've got a pretty good idea of how my wedding morning went - that is, until my wedding photographer arrived. You see, I had communicated my vision with her leading up to the big day so she was immediately able to step in and take over the timeline, navigate photos in the impending rain from Hurricane Joaquin and even pivot when our ceremony was moved indoors last minute. Photographs were one of the most important aspects of our wedding and the minute she arrived, I felt a sense of relief and encouragement. 

Having this experience as a bride has uniquely shaped how I approach a wedding day and the planning period leading up to it. During our initial chat, we'll work through a quick photography timeline so you can relax and have fun on the big day while we capture all of your favorite moments! I'll share my tips and tricks for everything from finalizing your timeline to providing a list of items to gather leading up to the big day and even some amazing vendors that we love to work with!

Your photography experience is woven throughout your whole wedding day so it’s important to have a photographer you trust to capture the wedding you've always dreamt of! Not only do you deserve beautiful photographs, you also deserve an amazing experience and I'm here to provide you with nothing but the best!

LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!

If you think we'd be a great fit, we'll schedule a quick video chat so we can meet and you can tell me all about your wonderful plans so far! We'll draft up a quick timeline to make sure you have just the right amount of coverage and if everything sounds good, I'll send over an agreement to secure your date and make it official! Payments are split into 3 equal amounts and the first is due at the time of booking.

AND THEN

Once we're official, we'll start planning your engagement session! This is one of my favorite parts of the experience because we can get to know each other before the big day. I get to see how you interact and you can get comfortable in front of the camera - not to mention, you'll receive some pretty incredible photos too!

We'll be proactive throughout your planning process to create a seamless experience and stress-free wedding day! You'll receive a questionnaire a few months ahead of the wedding so when the big day finally arrives, I'll know all about your vision. Sit back and relax because we'll manage your timeline and coordinate with other vendors!

It's your wedding day - time for the real fun to begin! Leave your watch and cell phone behind because we'll manage your timeline and make sure everything stays on track. Veil problems? Tough bustle? Boutonniere trouble?  I have you covered!  We're excited to capture all of the special moments and details throughout your wedding day and are SO genuinely honored to celebrate your love!

IT'S TIME TO DO THE DARN THING!

AND THEN

You're married and you'll get to relive all of the fun within 4-6 weeks of your big day! Don't worry - you'll get a preview before that! Your edited photos are delivered in an online gallery where you can download all of your images and even order prints and products directly from our professional print lab. If you've elected to add on an album, we'll start the design process at this point.

how would you describe your style?

I like to think that my photographs have a film inspired, romantic style that's full of life and heart. 

i approach portraits and the wedding day with authenticity as a guide and strive to photograph things as they were, in their natural state. we definitely have a list of standard images that we work through and I'm happy to take any posed portraits you have in mind however i love to get my couples moving, laughing and interacting in order to get the most natural emotion in your images.

what if i'm awkward in photos?

Can I tell you a secret? 

i work with people having their photo taken all the time and yet i am just as awkward in photos! modern day media has taught us all to be uncomfortable and self conscious (let's be honest - we both know you're beautiful) but my job is to get you moving, relaxed and having fun during your session BECAUSE that's where the real magic happens! You'll probably hear a few of my bad jokes and by the end of it, we'll be good friends and I know you're going to have a great time!

how many photos can i expect?

There is no "set number" of photos but we usually deliver an average of 60-100 photos per hour of shooting. factors that could impact this are whether you choose a first look or aisle reveal, the number of events happening during the day, the quantity and type of details (think intricate invitation suites, table decor, etc.), The length of travel between locations and the number of guests. our goal is to document your day in the most thorough and authentic way possible so with that in mind, we don't remove photos just to hit a PREDETERMINED number.

what is your turnaround time?

Engagement sessions are typically delivered within 3-4 weeks of the session.

 completed wedding galleries are typically delivered within 4-6 weeks of the wedding. During the busiest parts of wedding season, turnaround could take up to 10-12 weeks.

do i have to pay extra for my Wedding images?

absolutely not!

This question has been popping up a lot lately and i'm of the school of thought that your photos are meant to be shared, posted and loved! Your collection includes access to your complete gallery of edited photos. you are welcome to share this link with friends and family, download and post your images. I also offer the option of ordering professional prints and products directly through your gallery.

can you recommend other vendors?

absolutely!

I provide all of my couples with a list of my favorite vendors that i love to work with! choosing the wedding professionals for your big day can be a stressful and time consuming so I love lending a hand with this step of the process. we appreciate working with amazing vendors just as much as you do!

Do you shoot digital or film?

both!

at this point, i primarily shoot digital photographs and edit them
in a film inspired style.  That said, FILM HAS A PAINTERLY SENSE OF DEPTH AND TONAL DIMENSION THAT ISN'T FULLY ACHIEVABLE WITH DIGITAL MEDIUMS SO I LOVE TO incorporate film throughout the wedding day if the conditions are perfect! When shooting film, I use 35mm and medium format cameras.

do you have insurance and backup gear?

Yes to both!

I am happy to provide a proof of insurance to your venue prior to the big day. please be sure to request this at least two weeks before the wedding day. 

accidents happen and technology can be temperamental so
I always have backup camera bodies, multiple lenses and memory cards
that accompany me to every session and wedding day.

do you shoot same sex weddings?

Absolutely!

Love is love here at krista brackin photography and we gladly accept all races, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations and religions.

What if you haven't Worked at our venue before?

not to worry! I frequently find that I can be more creative with new venues because I approach the day with a fresh set of eyes and new ideas! I always research new venues online and i always arrive early on the wedding day so I can meet your coordinator and walk the grounds to scout out locations. this is the best option because the weather and available light on your wedding day dictate where we can take photos.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT VIDEOGRAPHERS?

I enjoy working with all vendors especially videographers! photo and video cross paths many times throughout the wedding day and I love getting to work with videographers because it offers another dynamic perspective to your experience! If possible, I will share our photography timeline with your videographers prior to the big day so that we can make sure there's enough time to achieve everything they need. we will also communicate regularly throughout the wedding day because we share a mutual goal - documenting your big day!

do you use a second photographer at weddings?

Absolutely! second shooters are included in all of my pre-made collections. Having a second photographer gives a second set of eyes and another unique perspective on your wedding day which is an essential part of my couples' experience. having a second photographer present on your wedding day means that we're able to divide and conquer which means more unique moments photographed and shared in your final gallery.  


all of my second shooters are professional photographers that I trust to care for my couples in the same way that I do! They're pretty darn amazing and I can't wait for you to meet them on your big day!
