Personal Post | Ch-Ch-Changes for Krista Brackin Photography!

THE WAIT IS OVER!
I’m happy and proud to announce that I will be going
full time with Krista Brackin Photography this fall!

So, why now?

Well, some of you may not know this but since I started pursuing this amazing dream of being a photographer I have also juggled a fairly demanding full time healthcare management job. While working at the same healthcare corporation for the past 8 years, I gained invaluable experience for which I will be forever grateful.  Along the way, I have also learned that what I thought was a passion for medicine and science was actually a passion serving others, making a difference and really a passion for people. While these three things support a wonderful old fashioned work ethic in the corporate setting, I find that they are that much more meaningful when applied to my business especially for couples that are planning for one of the most important days of their lives – their wedding day!

This past July, my husband and I experienced the most joyful experiences of our lives so far – the birth of our daughter, Lucy Jayne (see below – we think she’s the cutest!). The last 2+ months have been filled with more dirty diapers, laughter, sleepless nights, love and fulfillment than we ever dreamed. That bliss aside, we had to talk through our “plan”. How would I return to work? How would we add another proverbial ball to our juggling act? We evaluated options, we toured daycares, we slept on it (a lot), we said many prayers and ultimately, I kept returning to the reality that we would miss our little girl growing up while we worked our +50 hour-a-week jobs.

So what does this mean?

Well, after crunching the numbers, saying many more prayers, a few glasses of wine and some fairy dust, we made the challenging decision that I would make the transition to a WAHM (Work At Home Mom) to raise our daughter while pouring even more love and time into my amazing clients and business! We know that this path will be challenging, heck making the decision was anguishing, but at the end of the day this is right for us. I am at peace and excited for this new adventure!

This means exciting things for KBP for the rest of 2017 and into 2018! My maternity leave has allowed me to recover from years of burnout and I am fired up and excited to jump into this new adventure with both feet! Stay tuned for:

  • More beautiful weddings & engagements on the blog & social media!
  • Formal business office hours!
  • Enhanced experience for new clients!
  • New vendor collaborations!
  • More wedding and portrait clients than ever before!

To my current clients, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Over the past few years you have become family to me and without you, this leap would not be possible.

To my future clients and couples – I can’t wait to work with you and serve you better than ever before! You’re in for a lot of fun and a beautiful wedding experience!

To my family, we love you all so much! You have been my biggest supporters and strongest critics through it all. I am so, so happy to be able to be able to spend more time with you and share Lucy, our biggest blessing.

I’m so happy I could cry (well maybe I already am)!  Cheers to beginning a new journey – I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!
