I am beyond excited to share Kelly and Tyler’s photos from their intimate wedding at a private estate in West Chester, PA. This venue isn’t just any old spot, this is the home where Tyler grew up and where his parents live which makes it all that much more special! These two are the kindest couple and our associate team, Abbey and Lily, were honored to photograph their big day! This wedding was full of details galore and that wouldn’t have been possible without the bride’s wonderful sister, Jen, who is the extremely talented owner of Letter B Calligraphy and the groom’s parents who own Matlack Florist in West Chester, PA.
Their early fall day was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour on the lawn and a reception under the stars! It is clear to see how loved and celebrated Kelly and Tyler were by all of their friends and family and we are absolutely honored to have been there to capture every moment! Enjoy this wedding at a private estate. Congratulations, newlyweds!
How we met: Four years ago, during 4th of July weekend, Tyler and I were both down the shore in Margate, New Jersey. Tyler was there with his best friend, Bob, and I was there with Bob’s sister, so we were all staying in the same house. *Side note: Tyler and I actually went to the same high school (West Chester East), so we knew of each other, but we never talked, and I always joke that I would have never dated him in high school! Anyways, during that weekend, Tyler’s friend Bob and his wife had a wedding to attend, so they left for the day leaving Tyler to hang out with girls, which included me. He pulled up a chair next to me on the beach and we started talking. Eventually, this led to Tyler asking my friend for my number, we went on a date when we got back to West Chester, and the rest is history!
Proposal: When Tyler and I knew that marriage was in our future, I would always tell him that when he proposed I did NOT want it to be in public or in front of a group of people. I just wanted it to be the two of us, and I would joke about how I could just be in a tshirt or in my pajamas when he did it. Well, he definitely listened because on April 14, 2018, I woke up thinking it would be like any other Saturday morning (Tyler getting up at 6 am like a crazy person, and me waking up a few hours later). When I opened our bedroom door he had rose petals all the way down the hallway and leading down the stairs. I don’t even know what I said in that moment, but when I got to the bottom Tyler was down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (I had him repeat what he said to me later on because I was so surprised in the moment that I didn’t even remember!)
What we like to do/date-night: In our free time, Tyler and I love exploring new breweries, beer gardens, and restaurants in the area. We also enjoy taking day trips to the beach during the summer, and in the fall we love to sit on the couch with a beer eating wings while cheering on the Eagles and Penn State football.
What we are most excited about for our wedding: We are excited to take the next step in our lives together and be surrounded by all of our close friends and family on our wedding day. We have never had everyone together in the same place at the same time, and we know that it will probably not happen again! We are also looking forward to all of the small details that are special to the two of us, and we feel very fortunate to be getting married in the house where Tyler grew up and where we spend a lot of time. We can’t wait!!
